Hello! I am Jo Bealey

Licensed Counsellor and Psychotherapist

I’m a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist (registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I believe therapy should be available and attainable for everyone.
You’re suffering and i’m here to listen. Together, we can help you feel better.

Are you having more bad days than good? Feeling fed-up, depressed, anxious or grieving and having trouble ‘to shake’ those difficult feelings? Perhaps you are feeling stuck or having trouble with your relationships? We can feel we ‘should’ be able to cope which can make our difficult feelings tougher and feel very isolating for you too.

I know how daunting it can be to share your thoughts and feelings with someone. Before becoming a therapist, I felt the same. Together can create a sanctuary, a place where you can ‘come as you are’ and share what it is you are experiencing. A time and space, just for you.

My therapy is non-directive, it’s my job to be by your side and enable you to explore what is on your mind. It doesn’t matter how ‘big or small everything is welcome and will be met by understanding and support. During our time together, we go at your own pace and wherever you choose or need to go.

Perhaps it is a present issue that is causing you difficulty or past events which need some time and attention. I treat all my clients as unique and with warmth and kindness. I bring my own life experience and counselling training to create a therapeutic and empathetic relationship that will help enable you to feel better and like ‘you’ once again.

I specialise in Attachment -based psychotherapy, this helps the development of secure and healthy attachments, healing attachment wounds, and enhance emotional well-being. Perhaps you’ve come across your attachment style and are curious about how it influences your relationships and overall well-being? Or maybe you experienced a difficult childhood and are looking to be able to heal from those early adversities.

By exploring early attachment experiences and understanding their impact, we gain insight into your relationship patterns and can work towards developing healthier ways relating to others.

Attachment psychotherapy provides a space for us to understand ourselves better.

We focus on enhancing emotion regulation skills, promoting self-compassion, and fostering supportive relationships, all of which contribute to improved overall mental health. Attachment-based therapy empowers you to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, build stronger connections, heal from past hurts, and navigate future challenges with greater resilience and a sense of security.
